Presentation of the IT Culture project by the Municipality of Grevena in an educational seminar of the Chamber of Arta.
The presentation of the IT CULTURE project (www.it-culture.eu) of the cross-border European program INTERREG GREECE ALBANIA 2014-2020 was held on Saturday 30-11-2019 by the Municipality of Grevena at the invitation of the Chamber of Arta, represented by the Deputy Mayor Mr. Christos Trigonis and Project Coordinator Ms. Dina Antoniou.
The on-going project is concerned with actions for the tourist utilization of culture through modern electronic applications. The approved budget of the municipality for this project, funded by the Partnership Agreement (PA) 2014-2020, amounts to € 300,000 and will include, among other things, museology studies, procurement of digital monitors, digital applications for computers, tablets and smartphones as well as cultural development paths.
Through IT Culture the Municipality of Grevena aims to (a) create two main museums for Grevena, one Archaeological (Mylos Mpousiou) and one Folklore (plot donated by the Stergiadis family), and (b) to highlight culture as a key driver of tourism development in the area.
The event was attended by elected officials, local government officials, representatives from agencies and development companies of the Epirus Region, with whom a fruitful and in-depth dialogue was held, including exchange of views, experiences and best practices on issues regarding invigorating entrepreneurship, innovation and development in direct synergy with actions and projects promoting cultural heritage.
